MDR Charges Explained: Kitna Pay Karte Hain Pakistani Restaurants Banks Ko

Merchant discount rate percentage illustration

MDR Kya Hota Hai?

Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) wo chhota percentage hai jo bank ya payment gateway har card transaction se deduct karta hai, processing ke badle. Matlab agar customer Rs 1,000 ka bill card se pay karta hai aur MDR 2% hai, to aapko Rs 980 credit honge, na ke poore Rs 1,000.

Ye charge normal aur expected hai — har card payment system me hota hai. Masla tab hota hai jab ye rate consistent nahi hota, ya jitna commit kiya gaya tha us se zyada deduct ho raha hota hai.

Typical MDR Rates Pakistan Me

Rates bank, card network (Visa/Mastercard/local schemes), aur merchant category ke hisaab se vary karti hain — generally kahin **1.5% se 2.5%** ke beech dekhi jati hain restaurants/retail ke liye, lekin exact rate aapke bank ke saath kiye gaye agreement par depend karti hai.

Rate Terminal Se Terminal Alag Kyun Hoti Hai

  • Agar aapke multiple outlets alag alag time par onboard hue hain, har terminal ka agreement/rate alag ho sakta hai.
  • Different card networks (Visa vs Mastercard vs local) ki apni alag MDR rates hoti hain.
  • Kabhi kabhi promotional/introductory rates expire ho jati hain aur standard rate pe switch ho jati hain — bina explicit notice ke.

Overcharging Kaise Pakdein

Apne bank agreement me likhi hui exact MDR percentage nikalein, aur har settlement ko us percentage se manually calculate kar ke compare karein. Agar deducted amount consistently us se zyada hai, ye ek valid dispute point hai jo aap apne relationship manager ke saath raise kar sakte hain.
